Navidad is coming!

We don’t have any snow here in Jumilla, however the Christmas lights have been switched on, many shops have real Christmas trees outside, and tonight we are going to the Adult Education Centre’s Christmas meal.  I think I can safely say that  Christmas - known in Spain as Navidad - is coming!

If you haven’t been invited to our friends Lesley and John’s house on Saturday night, then check whether Los Chilines have any tickets left for their Noche del Cava, which is highly recommended.  We were disappointed when we discovered it was going to be on December 18th and that we would have to miss it this year.

We will definitely be in the parish church of El Salvador on Sunday 19th December at 12.30 to listen to the two local choirs taking part in the VI Festival of carols: that will really get us into the Christmas spirit.  On Saturday and Sunday between 10.30 and 23.00 there will be a Christmas Artisans Market, on Calle Cánovas near the Jumilla Ayuntamiento, which should be worth a visit - especially if you still have your Christmas shopping to do!

John and I have completed our Christmas shopping, and all our cards have been posted, so we can now relax and enjoy ourselves.  Although there will be plenty going on in Jumilla over the next couple of weeks, we plan to go into Murcia one evening between 23rd and 27th December to see the spectacular Luz en la Navidad.
